Crosstown H2R (est. 2022) is a spin-off from Crosstown Power (now in its 21st year of operations) and is a product oriented business for delivering customised H2R® Burners for gas turbine decarbonisation and NOx reduction.
Crosstown H2R is manned by business & engineering professionals who have been developing and delivering gas turbines and associated combustion burners for over four decades:
- The team previously developed and deployed a 40% hydrogen combustion system (1997) which operated for over 15 years
- The team has successfully developed & demonstrated hydrogen burners with 100% H₂ content in gas turbines
- The team has recently launched gas turbines which operate in the field with over 50% hydrogen
- The H2R® team has previously worked with GT manufacturers such as ABB, ALSTOM, GE, Rolls-Royce and SIEMENS

S. Manoj Harasgama
Co-CEO
Manoj has accumulated 15 years of experience in venture and venture capital (VC) building, scaling and selling large companies across Europe. As an entrepreneur and investor he has built and invested in startups predominantly in Berlin, Amsterdam and Zurich with multiple funding rounds and exits to his name. He is also a guest lecturer on Growth and Entrepreneurship at some of the best ranked business schools in the world including the University of St. Gallen (HSG), ESADE Lull University in Barcelona and RSM (Rotterdam School of Management).
Wolfgang Kappis

Experienced professional with decades of experience in the development of gas turbine and power plant equipment, Technology and R&D programmes and especially upgrades to gas turbine development and program management for challenging products and components. Responsible for multi-site management for engineering of gas turbines in Europe and the USA. Manufacturing and operational control of production of gas turbine equipment in Europe.

Competencies include Design for Manufacture, Concurrent Engineering, and project management. Developed combustion systems and burners for ALSTOM (Switzerland) and MAN-Turbo (Germany) gas turbines for Ultra Low-NOx capability with operations with Natural Gas and hydrogen. Design for manufacturing with Additive Manufacturing (3D- Printing) processes. Lean/Six-Sigma capable. Holder of 15 international patents
Dr. Jaan Hellat
CTO
Leading edge professional with decades of experience in the development of power plant equipment, high technology impact R&D programmes and especially Combustion & Burner Technologies for challenging products and components. Developing & delivering Dry Low NOx solutions for over eight gas turbines implemented in the field. Lead combustion development and implementation in ABB, ALSTOM for over 20 years and launched six large scale gas turbines (40MW to 340MW). Lead the corporate R&D centre for ABB Combustion in Switzerland, developing burners for ABB (Switzerland) & ABB (Sweden, now part of Siemens Energy). Gas Turbine Hall of Fame at ABB & ALSTOM. Best publication on combustions systems and burners at the International Gas Turbine Institute. Advisor General on Combustion at the Paul Scherer Institute in Switzerland, Combustion Advisor at the University of Darmstadt in Germany. Holder of 43 international patents.
