The customisation of the H2R® for integration into a combustion system in a 15MW gas turbine was initiated in Q1/2022. Definition of the systems specifications and customisation the burner for the target gas turbine have been conducted. Full combustion simulations have been performed, mechanical design completed and the burner has been tailored to operate within the target gas turbine pressure requirements. Three-Dimensional CAD models of the customised burner have been generated and delivered to our business partner for integrating in the engine in Q4/2022.
The NOx levels are expected to reduce from 45ppm down to less than 8ppm with Natural Gas. With Hydrogen the NOx is expected to be below 15ppm. The CO₂ saving with a 50:50 mix of Natural Gas & Hydrogen is expected to be reduced by 2 Tons/Hour. With 100% Hydrogen the CO₂ emissions of 10 Tons/hour will be completely eliminated, saving over 85 thousand tons of CO2/year.
